Some current facts about the Chinese elevator industry

I am starting a series of publications about the elevator industry in China.

Here are some current facts about the Chinese elevator industry:
There are currently 310,000 elevators in operation in Beijing.
There are about 11,000,000 elevators in total installed in China.
There are over 300 elevator factories in China.
There are over 20,000 elevator maintenance and installation companies in China.
Currently, about 70% of the world’s elevators are manufactured in mainland China, and the total number of elevators in this country has reached 40% of the world’s total.
About 1,000,000 elevators are manufactured in China annually, 90% of which are for the domestic market.
There is no legal definition of the service life of an elevator in China — it is believed that the estimated service life is from 10 to 15 years.
