About the Elevatorpedia
Hello!
My name is Alexey Stepanov. I have been working in the elevator industry since 2005. For 15 years, I served as the IT Director for a major elevator maintenance company in Russia. In this role, I developed and implemented advanced IT solutions for elevator monitoring and control, and automated the company's business processes using the LIS system I created.
In 2013, I founded the Liftopedia.ru portal - a "Wikipedia" of sorts dedicated to elevators.
Between 2020 and 2026, I wrote over 30 articles for the Russian print magazine "Liftinform". These articles covered the elevator industries in various countries around the world and formed a series titled "Elevator Journeys to..."
The "Elevatorpedia" project presents these articles in English. I hope you enjoy discovering this information and you are welcome to share new facts with me!
I am currently writing a PhD thesis on the history of elevators.
